Statement November, 2006
Come To Galapagos, LLC is an international company
registered and insured in both Ecuador Numero
Registrada #3857543 and in the state of California,
USA, # 200618010011. We are further licensed to sell
travel in the state of California, CST #475829 and
are members of the “Travel Consumers Restitution
Fund” insuring traveler’s rights in California. Our
business function is to market land based tours of
the Galapagos in the US and coordinate the tours
once they are here in Ecuador. We are the only
existing international tour company owned and
primarily staffed by native Galapagenios in these
islands.
Our Primary Directive As A Galapagenian Company
To empower the true custodians of these islands (the
inhabitants) to not only take part, but take the
lead in the care of their/our islands and the future
of their/our families and culture as we all
transition toward sustainable economic practices.
Our Primary Directives As A Tour Company:
#1, To provide visitors the option of experiencing
the Galapagos on a more intimate and comfortable
level than would otherwise be available to them on
traditional “cruise tours”.
#2, To empower the true custodians of these islands
(the inhabitants) to not only take part, but take
the lead in the care of their islands and the future
of their families and culture as we all transition
toward sustainable economic practices.
#3, To educate visitors about: the history, natural
wonders and the ecological/political and cultural
challenges confronting these islands.
#4, To enjoy and share the reality that is the
Galapagos today.
These directives are interdependent.
Implementation:
#1 Develop The Company:
Create LLC, California licenses, International
Licenses, Domain Name, Logo, Web Page, Insurances
#2 Bring the tourists:
Develop Marketing Plan, Purchase & Design Brochures,
Business cards, etc. Develop Ads, Sales Strategy and
Force
#3 Use Local Vendors:
Contract for services with existing Galapagenian
Vendors, captains, guides, restaurants, hotels,
taxis etc., receive and coordinate tours.
#4 Use Local Products:
Provide secure consistent contracts for goods,
coordinate with farmers and fishermen to insure
their production coincides with best practices.
#5 Incorporate the local culture within the
tours:
Provide tours of local farms (coffee, bamboo,
produce, livestock) and fishing co-ops, include the
tourists in the day to day reality of life in the
Galapagos, bingo bilable, barbeques, soccer games.
#6 Community Outreach:
To educate and inform local inhabitants of the real
choices they have and the real consequences of the
ones they make with regard to their immediate
environment, political choices, manner and care of
tourists, products purchased, etc.
#7 Work a politically:
Our affiliation is with the islands and the people
of the Galapagos, not with what ever political party
happens to be in power that year. As a company while
we will always promote political education we will
neither endorse nor disparage political parties or
candidates.
#8 International Education:
Extending and developing our existing international
contacts with reporting agencies, newspapers and
government agencies, to continue to have the ability
to use the international press to help effect
changes in the constantly changing political
landscape that is Ecuador today. |
