Volunteers Galapagos Family Vacations, tours and travel

We Customize Volunteer Positions To Fit Needs And Aptitudes

Volunteering is one of those “real” life experiences that people tend to grow from and remember for the rest of their lives. Volunteering to help us here in the Galapagos is unquestionably unique. We need help with just about everything, from eradication of introduced species of plants, to teaching English, to infant care, doctors, dentists, veterinarians, computer skills, CPR and wilderness first aid, alternative construction methods might be the most ecologically important, the list is endless. Whatever it is you know how to do can help. In some cases if you don’t know how, we can show you. Much like we do for our visiting “hearts” (vacationers that travel with us), we customize volunteer positions to fit needs and abilities. The difference between us an international company sending people to locations throughout the world is that we live here.

When the various international agencies, foundations, etc. offer volunteer positions here in San Cristobal, Galapagos, they do it basically through us, “the family”, Come to Galapagos. They do not contact our company directly, but they do work with the people that make up “The Family” Come To Galapagos. For example my wife founded and ran the B&B association here whose primary clients are volunteers. “Our family” handles placement, curriculum or project strategy coordination and all of the volunteer paperwork. The level of Spanish you will need will depend on the type of volunteer work you are interested in doing.

Often our volunteers will dine with our shorter term “hearts” (vacationing clients). One of our primary goals is the education of visitors. The more angles or perspectives they receive, the better informed they will be to come to their own conclusions. You as a volunteer with weeks or months of experience here will have your own unique perspective. For the volunteer this offers an opportunity to share what they are doing, what they have learned and what they hope to accomplish. Also they get to dine first class.

Including three meals a day, lodging (generally home stays/B&Bs), curriculum or project strategy coordination, support and all the paper work involved, you can figure this will cost you $1,800 a month. Beyond that all you have to do is get here and of course we can help with that too. Please write with any questions and as much information about yourself and your goals as possible. We are at your service.
